Cathay has appointed Ivan Chan (pictured right) as its new general manager of corporate affairs. He has started as general manager, corporate affairs-designate, before fully taking up his new role effective 16 March 2026.
Reporting to Cathay's chief customer and commercial officer Lavinia Lau, Chan will be tasked at overseeing all corporate communication, government relations and strategic engagement for Cathay. Chan is also responsible for promoting and protecting the group's image in Hong Kong and globally.
Chan joined John Swire & Sons (H.K.) in 2022 after spending much of his career focusing on corporate communications, crisis handling, issues management, stakeholder engagement, government affairs and analysing public policy.
