Bear Meets Eagle On Fire has appointed Lea Walker as its first chief executive officer, marking a new chapter for the Australian independent creative studio.
Walker will join the agency founded by her husband, creative heavyweight Micah Walker, in early 2027, bringing more than 30 years of international advertising and talent experience to the newly created role.
The appointment will see Walker close her talent consultancy, Mrs Walker, after nine years to take on the leadership position at one of Australia's most recognised independent creative agencies.
Her career spans senior roles and experience with agencies including Wieden+Kennedy, Fallon and Leo Burnett, giving her extensive experience across creative agency operations, talent and industry leadership.
The appointment introduces a dedicated chief executive role to Bear Meets Eagle On Fire, allowing the studio to formalise its business leadership while maintaining the creative approach that has defined its reputation.
Founded by Micah Walker, Bear Meets Eagle On Fire has established itself through distinctive creative work and a deliberately selective approach to client relationships.
The agency has indicated that the appointment is not intended to signal a shift towards aggressive expansion, with its focus remaining on the quality of its creative output and the relationships it builds with clients.
Walker joins at a time when independent creative agencies are increasingly balancing their creative ambitions with the operational demands of running and sustaining their businesses.
Her experience in talent and recruitment also brings a different perspective to the chief executive role, particularly as agencies navigate changing workforce expectations and the impact of technology on creative production.
The appointment will take effect in early 2027.
