Club Med has appointed Michelle Davies as general manager of Singapore, Malaysia and emerging markets, succeeding Olivier Monceau.

The appointment comes as Club Med Cherating undergoes a complete renovation, which began on 11 October, and Club Med Borneo in Sabah officially opens its doors this month.

Davies will work with Rachael Harding, CEO of Club Med Southeast Asia and Pacific (SEAP), and Sebastian Favre, vice president, development, project management and construction at Club Med SEAP. Marc Letourneau succeeds her as general manager of the Pacific.

Her focus will be on strengthening Club Med’s position as the preferred premium all-inclusive brand for families and couples in Singapore and Malaysia, and on growing both direct and travel agent channels, with best practice brought over from the Pacific and emerging markets.

Davies has spent the past six years as general manager of Club Med’s Pacific market, which she led through its post-pandemic recovery and helped become one of the brand’s top five markets globally. Prior to becoming general manager, Davies was previously Club Med’s head of marketing for the Pacific from 2020 to 2022.

According to Club Med, the team delivered record performance, particularly in its ski portfolio, driven by a focus on growing both direct and travel agent channels. In 2025, she took on the brand’s new emerging markets as well.

Her predecessor Monceau led Club Med Singapore and Malaysia from 2022. During his tenure, he consolidated the business’s strategy across both markets and diversified the resort offering in Malaysia.

He laid the groundwork for Club Med Borneo, which Club Med says has achieved strong commercial success ahead of its opening this month. He also set in motion the complete revamp of Club Med Cherating, and led the revamp of the brand’s entire sun portfolio, kickstarting its new lifestyle positioning.

“My priorities for 2027 are clear. Club Med Borneo opens its doors this month, and 2027 will be its first full year welcoming guests to a brand-new destination in Sabah," said Davies.

She added that the vision for the region is ambitious. “Over the next decade, we aim to establish Singapore as one of Club Med’s top 10 markets globally with growth expected to exceed 80%. Malaysia is also set to enter its next chapter of growth."

She also pointed to Club Med Borneo, the revitalisation of Cherating and new resorts in Thailand, Japan and Indonesia.

Her appointment follows a shake-up of Club Med’s regional marketing. In September, the brand appointed FABCOM as its media agency across 14 APAC markets, including Singapore and Malaysia. This marked a move to a regional performance hub model instead of a market-by-market roster.
