Independent agency network Attivo Group has named veteran agency leader Anthony Gregorio as executive chairman for Australia and New Zealand, bolstering its regional leadership team as it eyes growth.
The newly created role sees Gregorio join Attivo’s ANZ executive leadership alongside CEO Sue Squillace and COO John Rizoski. Global CEO Cam Murchison said the hire supports Attivo’s structure of giving regional leaders autonomy while backing them with shared services and global investment.
Gregorio brings more than 30 years’ experience in agency leadership and business consulting, including stints as CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Australia and Havas Creative Group ANZ. He was most recently a partner at Tumbleturn Marketing Advisory and served on the board of Foodbank Australia for nine years.
“This new role brings together my background in growing agencies with the strategic insights I’ve gained through consulting,” Gregorio said. “I have deep respect for the team at Attivo and am excited to get back to what I love doing most.”
Squillace and Gregorio previously worked together at Publicis Groupe and will now collaborate on cross-agency and cross-client growth across Attivo’s portfolio, which includes Mediahub, 303 MullenLowe, Tonic, Farrimond and Gorilla.
Murchison, who has led the group’s global expansion, said Gregorio’s appointment will allow him to focus on growth opportunities in new markets. Last year, Attivo acquired Hill Holliday in Boston and DNY in New York, following earlier investments in 303 MullenLowe and Mediahub.
“Anthony’s client-focused approach and consultancy experience will bring great benefit to our clients’ business growth and broaden our market appeal,” Murchison said.
Squillace added: “We’re excited to have Anthony join the team. We share similar values and a drive to grow clients’ business through effective, integrated thinking. I’m looking forward to what we can build together.”
