AnyMind Group has appointed Anson Cheng (pictured) as managing director, Greater China. In this role, he will lead the company’s business and operations across its offices in Greater China.

Cheng succeeds Ben Chien, who founded and led Acqua Media, a publisher trading desk that AnyMind Group acquired in 2018. Chien will step down at the end of October 2026.

Cheng joined AnyMind Group in August 2018 through the acquisition of Acqua Media. Most recently serving as head of publisher growth, he led supply-side operations, programmatic monetisation, and digital publisher partnerships across the region, while also overseeing the creator business and rich media solutions business in Greater China.

Prior to joining AnyMind Group, he built extensive leadership experience across adtech, digital media, and publisher management companies, driving programmatic growth and cross-border commercial strategies.

Cheng said: “Having been part of AnyMind Group’s journey in Greater China since the acquisition of Acqua Media in 2018, I have seen firsthand how our BPaaS model has transformed the regional digital and e-commerce landscape. As enterprises across Greater China rapidly adapt to dynamic cross-border opportunities and AI-driven capabilities, this is an exciting time to bring our business to a new level."

"I look forward to working closely with our clients, including enterprises, creators, and publishers across Greater China to unlock new growth and build even stronger partnerships - both inbound and outbound," he added.

Reflecting on his tenure, Chien said: “Leading our operations across Greater China over the last eight years with this remarkable team has been an absolute honor. I take great pride in the success and value we have delivered alongside our regional partners and clients, and I am fully confident that Anson and the leadership team will keep driving innovation while elevating our presence in Greater China to new heights.”

Kosuke Sogo, CEO, AnyMind Group, said: “We are truly grateful for the vital role Ben has played in scaling our footprint and establishing our business across Greater China - an important market that continues to have strong growth momentum. As we enter this next phase with Anson, I am confident that we will continue to drive even greater value for our customers, as we look to become the world’s new gen business infrastructure.”

AnyMind Group first established its Hong Kong presence in May 2017, followed by the acquisition of Acqua Media in August 2018. Over the years, the company has scaled its operations across Greater China, establishing a strong presence in key commercial hubs including Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hangzhou.

Today, the company provides enterprises, publishers and creators with a suite of intelligent platforms that form a “new gen business infrastructure". This suite spans production and marketing, commerce, including eCommerce, live commerce, social commerce and offline commerce, logistics, and AI and data utilisation, with an increasingly AI-native layer connecting these capabilities to help businesses operate, make decisions and grow more effectively across the entire value chain. Most recently, the company partnered with Alibaba Cloud to advance AI-powered live commerce in Asia.
