7-Eleven puts a plush spin on Singapore’s kopi culture

7-Eleven Singapore is tapping into the nostalgia of kopi runs, takeaway drinks and neighbourhood mama shops this National Day, turning familiar local rituals into a collection of playful collectibles for SG61.
Created in partnership with Play Nation, the collection reimagines everyday Singaporean icons as plush accessories and collectibles. Among the items are the "Dabao! drinks" plush drawstring crossbody bags, which transform classic local drinks into wearable companions.
Available exclusively at 7-Eleven Singapore, the blind-box series features four local drink-inspired designs, complete with adjustable straps for everyday carry. The collection also includes "Kopi & toast" plush keyring blind boxes.

The collaboration builds on a long-term partnership between 7-Eleven Singapore and Play Nation, through which the convenience retailer has been rolling out exclusive collectible campaigns as it looks to position its stores as places for discovery beyond everyday convenience.
According to a 7-Eleven spokesperson, the SG61 collection gave both brands an opportunity to celebrate Singapore's birthday through familiar local favourites that could resonate with consumers across generations.
The creative direction draws heavily from everyday rituals associated with Singaporean life, from starting the morning with kaya toast and kopi to grabbing an iced drink to go.
"These familiar moments evoke nostalgia and togetherness across generations," the spokesperson said.
That familiarity has been translated into products designed to give everyday objects a more playful spin. The "Dabao! drinks" bags turn the ubiquitous takeaway drink into a wearable accessory, while a mama shop building block set pays tribute to the neighbourhood stores that have long been fixtures of Singapore's heartlands.

According to the spokesperson, mama shops were selected for their associations with childhood memories and community, while the wider collection was designed to turn recognisable Singaporean experiences into functional collectibles consumers can use, carry and collect.
Beyond celebrating National Day, the collaboration also feeds into 7-Eleven Singapore's broader push to evolve perceptions of the convenience store.
For the retailer, the commercial impact of the collection will be measured primarily through sales performance and store traffic. However, 7-Eleven is also looking at the partnership as a way to deepen customer engagement and strengthen its position as a destination for exclusive collectibles and more experiential shopping.
The National Day collection also builds on 7-Eleven Singapore's wider push to make discovery a bigger part of the convenience store experience. Last month, the retailer launched its new brand campaign, "Find the good stuff", as part of a broader push to reposition itself beyond convenience and turn routine store visits into moments of discovery.
Developed with creative agency TAG, the campaign focuses on surprise, innovation and exclusive experiences to encourage repeat visits and strengthen customer loyalty.
