Warner Bros. Discovery has appointed VaynerMedia Australia as its lead social agency for HBO Max, in a partnership spanning creative and production across all social platforms for the premium streaming service.
Ashleigh Bruton, head of social for HBO Max Australia, said since the platform’s local launch seven months ago, it has cultivated “a highly engaged social community of the most incredible fans.”
“As we move into the next phase of HBO Max, we're excited to build on that momentum and continue to expand our online presence. When we met with the VaynerMedia team, they impressed us with their ideas for blending creativity, culture and conversation, and we’re looking forward to bringing that to life across our social marketing,” Bruton said.
Karen Coleman, country manager at VaynerMedia Australia, said the Warner Bros. Discovery team inspired them with its passion and drive to set a new standard for entertainment.
“Our partnership with the brilliant team at HBO Max is a dynamic collision of creativity and culture. The entertainment world is the ultimate stage for consumer connection, and we're ready to redefine how stories are told, shared and experienced on social, bringing fandoms deeper than ever into the worlds and characters they adore,” Coleman said.
Max brings together iconic entertainment brands under one platform, featuring premium content from HBO, Warner Bros., Discovery, Animal Planet and Cartoon Network. It’s also home to some of WBD’s most celebrated franchises, including Harry Potter and the DC Universe.
Already a major player in global streaming, Max was hoping to shake up the Australian market with its expansive content library spanning scripted dramas, documentaries, true crime and animation offering. The platform hosts marquee titles such as Friends, The Big Bang Theory and exclusive HBO originals.
