Vertiv, a global provider of critical digital infrastructure, has appointed Nico Echavarria (pictured) as director, sales management and country head for the Philippines, signalling a sharpened focus on a market increasingly defined by rapid digitalisation and infrastructure demand.

In his new role, Echavarria will lead the company’s sales strategy in the Philippines, aligning local execution with regional and global priorities as enterprises scale up investments in critical digital infrastructure.

The appointment comes as the Philippines experiences accelerating demand for resilient and energy-efficient systems, driven by growth across sectors such as business process outsourcing (BPO), banking and financial services, healthcare, government, telecommunications, and enterprise. These industries are facing mounting pressure to modernise infrastructure amid the rise of artificial intelligence and higher compute requirements.

Echavarria is expected to deepen Vertiv’s engagement with customers and partners, helping organisations navigate evolving infrastructure needs while balancing reliability, scalability, and sustainability.

“Nico brings a strong understanding of the Philippine market and the critical role that infrastructure plays in enabling economic growth and digital services,” said Jordan Koh, senior director, enterprise sales, emerging markets, Vertiv Asia. “His industry experience and customer-centric approach will further strengthen Vertiv’s ability to support organisations operating in highly demanding environments, where reliability, efficiency, and continuity are non-negotiable.”

Echavarria joins Vertiv with a track record in energy management and infrastructure solutions, having previously held leadership roles at Schneider Electric Philippines and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In those roles, he worked closely with organisations in energy-intensive and mission-critical sectors, addressing challenges around power availability, efficiency, and long-term infrastructure planning.

His experience also includes collaboration with partners and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with operational and sustainability goals – capabilities that Vertiv sees as critical as businesses and public services become increasingly reliant on always-on infrastructure.

“The Philippines is seeing strong growth in sectors that rely heavily on always-on digital and physical infrastructure. Vertiv is uniquely positioned to support these customers with its deep industry expertise and end-to-end critical power and thermal management portfolios. I look forward to working closely with customers and partners to help them build resilient, future-ready environments that support their operations and the communities they serve,” Echavarria said.
