Unifi opens creative and media pitches

Malaysian internet service provider Unifi, by Telekom Malaysia (TM) has launched two separate pitches, in search for a new creative and media partner agency.
A+M has learnt that seven agencies are through the second round for the creative pitch, while four agencies are in the running for the media remit. Unifi's incumbent incumbent creative and media agencies are also taking part in the pitch.

Earlier this year, Unifi took a novel approach to local celebrity culture with a campaign centred on the nuptials of Fattah Amin and Amira Othman. The campaign, described by Unifi as a first-of-its-kind in Malaysia, transformed the couple’s wedding into a nationwide entertainment event.
The "Setulus takdir: Fattah & Amira" ("A sincere fate: Fattah & Amira") campaign kicked off on 8 September with a 10-episode documentary series chronicling the couple’s journey. The climax was the ijab kabul (proposal) ceremony, which was streamed live exclusively on Unifi TV 2.0. To make sure no one missed it, the campaign also featured a Klang Valley-wide billboard takeover urging Malaysians to tune in.
This comes after the brand tapped Fattah Amin as its brand ambassador in March. Unifi has been featuring various Malaysian celebrities and influencers on its social media content but has not been known to have picked a brand ambassador before in recent years.
Previously, TM had worked with VML for the creation of its fluffy mascot, Yunni, for Unifi in 2023. Under the tagline “0% Geram, 100% Ngam”, which translates to “0% anger, 100% perfect”, Yunni is a personification of how Unifi’s new convergence package which brings together fixed broadband, mobile, and lifestyle services, removes a customer’s pain and frustration, according to a statement by the brand.
The brand has also partnered with GrowthOps Asia, for its web series titled “Macam Macam Gaya Hidup, Sama Sama Keluarga” (“Different lifestyles, same family”) which consisted of four episodes in April 2024. Each episode offers two parts, to explore both the parents’ and children’s points of view. It has also been supporting Unifi with its digital marketing efforts.
In June 2024, Unifi rolled out its nationwide 'Unifi Universe' campaign, centering its suite of convergence offerings. The campaign, created in collaboration with Grey Malaysia, aimed to demonstrate how the brand's portfolio of products converges into a seamless ecosystem. Accompanying the brand film is a catchy song that reminds viewers of Unifi's offerings.
