TikTok Shop has crowned the winner of its first creator reality show and live selling competition, “Live to shine”, marking a new step in its efforts to empower grassroots creators through education, mentorship and income opportunities within the fast-growing social commerce space.
The initiative comes as the Philippine creative economy continues to expand. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the sector contributed 1.94 trillion pesos (US$33.2 billion) to the country’s gross domestic product in 2024 and employed more than 7.5 million people, underscoring the scale of opportunity for creators and small entrepreneurs operating in the digital economy.
The competition brought together aspiring creators from across the Philippines, putting them through a series of online content and live selling challenges designed to build practical, real-world skills. Participants received hands-on training and mentorship from established TikTok Shop creators, learning how to engage audiences, tell product stories effectively and maximise TikTok Shop’s live selling features.

Contestants were ranked based on performance, with the top 16 advancing to an intensive training phase. These finalists were divided into four teams and mentored by leading TikTok Shop creators Daddy Louie (@louiejaybaloc), Dani Barretto (@danibarrettop), Iwa Moto (@iam_iwa) and Miss Dioza (@allaboutdioza). The programme combined guided coaching sessions, collaborative challenges and practical selling exercises intended to simulate the pressures and demands of live commerce.
“Live to shine was built to go beyond competition. It’s about equipping creators with the right skills, confidence, and support system so they can turn live selling into a sustainable source of income,” said Franco Aligaen, marketing lead, TikTok Shop Philippines. “By combining education, mentorship, and real selling experiences, we’re helping grassroots creators take meaningful steps toward economic empowerment.”
Following the training phase, the top 16 progressed to the finals, competing in team-based and individual live selling challenges streamed on TikTok Shop. The final rounds tested contestants’ ability to perform under pressure, adapt in real time and connect authentically with live audiences.
Team Miss Dioza emerged as the top-performing group, with each member receiving 500,000 pesos (US$8,600) in cash prizes. The winning team comprised Grand Champion Adima Isnaji Balaman (@mommyhustler8), Anne Jeline Mendoza (@recosbyaj_), Gene Gulapa Salvador (@engeneer0213) and Krizia Marcelo (@sulittipidtipsph). Team Louiejay placed second, followed by Team Dani and Team Iwa.
“Our journey was not easy, but the team proved that with discipline, heart, and self-belief, anything is possible. This wasn’t just about winning; it was about shaping creators who are ready to grow and pursue their dreams,” said Miss Dioza of her winning team.
The programme was supported by partners including Ovialand, which awarded the Grand Champion a house and lot worth 5 million pesos (US$86,000). Additional prizes included 500,000 pesos (US$8,600) per member for the top team, 300,000 pesos (US$5,100) for second place, 250,000 pesos (US$4,300) for third and 200,000 pesos (US$3,400) for fourth. Globe Telecom, The Loop and TM Star Digital Solutions also supported the competition, providing tools and infrastructure to help creators scale their live selling efforts.
Among the most compelling stories to emerge from “Live to shine” was that of Grand Champion Adima Isnaji Balaman (@mommyhustler8), a full-time housewife and single mother. During the competition, Balaman was facing significant personal challenges, including housing uncertainty, making her win a pivotal moment both professionally and personally. “I am deeply grateful to TikTok Shop for giving me the opportunity not just to showcase my selling skills, but also the story and heart behind it,” she said.
