Hong Kong’s English-language free newspaper The Standard (è‹±æ–‡è™Žå ±) has revamped its website and mobile app to elevate the reader experience.
As part of its revamp, The Standard has unveiled redesigned interfaces for both the website and app, aiming to make it easier for readers to find the content they love.
The upgraded app is now live and available for download on both iOS and Android platforms, inviting readers to explore the improvements and enjoy a richer, more immersive experience with The Standard.
Key enhancements include the addition of new content zones, including "Racing", "Business & Innovation", and "Entertainment", which are tailored to keep readers informed about the latest news, updates, and significant events around the globe.
In terms of layout, the background colour of The Standard app has changed from orange and red (pictured left) to a solid red (pictured right), MARKETING-INTERACTIVE confirmed. The website features a larger layout, with an updated font and bigger lead photos for articles, all presented in a clean design.

Unlike the previous design, which combined news from various sections such as focus, local, and business (pictured left), the revamped layout prioritises focus news on the main page, featuring equally large lead photos (pictured right).

Under Sing Tao News Corporation, The Standard is distributed Monday through Friday throughout Hong Kong, with over 200 street distribution points. The paper is also available in locations such as corporations, luxury residential estates, government offices, private and public hospitals, local and international schools, universities, and other educational training centres.
Back in December last year, The Standard added a dedicated racing section every weekday from Monday to Friday, catering to readers' needs. This section covers everything from local to international horse racing events, including in-depth pre- and post-race news, as well as entertaining insights from both inside and outside the racetrack. The Standard's racing edition is currently the only free horse racing newspaper in Hong Kong, according to Sing Tao Headline.
