Tatler Malaysia names new general manager

Tatler Malaysia has elevated Suraya Rahmat to the role of general manager, effective 1 July 2026.
In her new role as general manager, Suraya will support and work hand in hand with Gerrie Beh, company executive managing director, Malaysia and Indonesia. She will oversee business operations, team performance, strategic planning and cross-functional coordination, ensuring continued growth and success of the organisation.
Suraya first joined Tatler Malaysia in 2020 as head of commercial. She was later promoted to general manager, commercial in 2024.

Prior to joining Tatler Malaysia, she was a sales director at integrated digital marketing business ada from 2019 to 2020, and sales director at Unreserved Media from 2018. She's also had agency experience, first joining PHD in 2014.
Speaking with A+M exclusively, Suraya said that she is excited to embark on this new chapter of growth with Tatler Malaysia and to build the brand's evolution from a premium magazine into a 360° luxury platform.
"I see tremendous opportunity to create bespoke experiences, cultivate powerful communities and bring brands into meaningful conversations with the people who matter," said Suraya.
"Beyond media, we have the ability to create platforms where brands can connect, engage and build lasting relationships with influential audiences. I look forward to forging more purposeful brand partnerships and creating ideas that deliver both cultural relevance and commercial impact," she added.
Suraya takes on the role from Sim Wie Boon. Sim assumed the role in 2025, following his promotion from print editor, Malaysia. At the time, Sim oversaw content, creative, sales, marketing, partnerships, events and operations, with the goal of turning Tatler Malaysia into what he calls "a future-ready business."
Speaking with A+M exclusively at the time, he said that the brand's 360° strategy involved ensuring print, digital, social and experiential approaches work in tandem through touchpoints such as online content, curated brand activations and signature events to bring its audience and partners together.
Since his departure from the business, Sim has joined Standard Chartered as content strategist, digital content and discovery, according to checks by A+M.
