STB, Ciputra Group seal first strategic tie-up to deepen Indonesia visitor spend

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has entered its first-ever strategic partnership with Indonesian conglomerate Ciputra Group, aiming to increase visitor flow and spending from Indonesia by tapping into the developer’s expansive ecosystem of communities, schools and businesses.

Announced in Surabaya, the year-long collaboration will run from April 2026 to April 2027, positioning Singapore as a preferred destination across leisure, MICE and educational travel segments through a mix of curated programmes and exclusive benefits.

The partnership reflects Singapore’s continued focus on Indonesia as a core source market. In 2025, the city-state recorded S$23.9 billion in tourism receipts across the first three quarters, up 6.5% year-on-year, alongside 16.9 million international arrivals. Indonesia remained one of its top contributors, driven by proximity, cultural familiarity and a broad mix of attractions, retail and F&B offerings.

From classrooms to communities

A key pillar of the collaboration is education-led travel. Singapore will be designated as the preferred overseas destination for student trips across Ciputra Schools, with programmes designed to go beyond traditional excursions.

These will include behind-the-scenes tours, workshops and curated visits aimed at exposing students to Singapore’s innovation ecosystem, cultural institutions and tourism landscape.

“Ciputra Group has always believed in creating integrated ecosystems where education, business, and lifestyle come together. Through this collaboration, we are excited to provide our students, residents, and business partners with unique opportunities to explore Singapore through curated programmes, exclusive travel benefits, and engaging experiences that will enrich their journeys,” said Tri Ciputra Harun, associate director at Ciputra Group.

Extending reach across a built ecosystem

Beyond education, the partnership leverages Ciputra Group’s footprint of more than 76 residential and commercial projects across 37 Indonesian cities.

Retail tenants within its developments will gain access to travel incentives and support schemes for meetings, incentive trips and corporate events in Singapore. Meanwhile, residents and community members will receive exclusive travel privileges, as well as invitations to sports, entertainment and lifestyle events in the city-state.

STB will complement this with on-ground activations, bringing “Destination Singapore” closer to Indonesian audiences through consumer-facing campaigns and events embedded within Ciputra’s properties.

By embedding Singapore within existing communities and touchpoints, STB gains direct access to high-intent audiences, while Ciputra enhances its offering beyond physical infrastructure into experiential and cross-border value.

Ciputra Group is one of Indonesia’s largest and most diversified property developers. With more than four decades of experience, the group operates across sectors including real estate, retail, hospitality, education and healthcare, alongside international ventures in China, Vietnam and Cambodia.
