Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), the joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and Meta Platforms, has appointed Parminder Singh as its founding chief executive officer as it looks to accelerate enterprise AI adoption in India.

REIL was formed to combine Meta’s AI capabilities with Reliance’s enterprise reach, AI compute infrastructure and Jio’s nationwide connectivity, with a focus on scaling artificial intelligence use cases for businesses across sectors.

In his new role, Singh will lead the development and rollout of REIL’s enterprise AI strategy and build out its leadership team as the venture positions itself as a key player in India’s AI ecosystem.

Singh brings more than two decades of experience across global technology firms, including stints at Google, Apple, Twitter and IBM. He previously served as chief commercial and digital officer at Mediacorp, where he led an AI-driven transformation across the organisation and its digital businesses.

More recently, he co-founded ClayboxAI, an AI advisory firm focused on building organisational AI fluency, and WeKamp, an AI-powered community platform currently in pilot.

The appointment signals REIL’s intent to move quickly on enterprise AI deployment as competition intensifies across Asia Pacific’s fast-growing AI infrastructure and services market.

“Building India’s enterprise AI capability is a generational opportunity, and REIL was created to lead that charge. Singh brings the blend of global technology leadership, deep Asian market intuition and executive credibility that this role demands,” said Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm.

He added that Singh’s appointment marks the first step in assembling a team to shape enterprise AI in India and beyond.

“Enterprise AI in India is not a future story – it is a present opportunity. Indian enterprises need a trusted partner who understands both technology and business context. With Jio and Meta’s combined capabilities, we have a genuinely differentiated proposition,” Singh added.

The appointment also reflects a broader trend where companies are moving beyond model development into enterprise-scale deployment and bringing in senior leadership with deep experience across tech platforms, digital transformation and commercialisation to lead that shift.

Most recently, visual search and discovery platform Pinterest has appointed Damian Kim as vice president, APAC enterprise sales, as it looks to accelerate growth across the region. Kim was previously managing director, head of product – APAC at Meta, where he focused on developing products tailored to regional markets. He also held leadership roles at Meta across Singapore and Southeast Asia, and previously led the Surface business and key OEM partnerships for Microsoft in Asia Pacific.
