Reddit introduces new tools to boost user engagement

Social platform Reddit has launched new tools aimed at assisting users to better understand community rules and content performance.
In a statement on Thursday (6 March), the platform said it was "adding new tools to help everyone, from new users to experiences redditors, join conversations and share communities".
Before a user posts, they can now check if their content may be in conflict with a community's rules. Reddit stated that the new tool helps users avoid accidentally breaking rules and having their post removed.

If a post is removed due to community rules, a prompt will now appear that provides a streamlined method to repost the content to an alternative subreddit.
Additionally, Reddit will now show users a community's posting requirements, such as account age, before they post. This is to assist users in avoiding confusion, while increasing the number of successful posts. Reddit will also suggest relevant communities based on content of the created post, allowing users to find the right target audience.
Moreover, redditors can now tap into the metrics behind their posts, including views, upvotes, shares and more. Reddit said this new feature helps users understand what works to improve their future posts.

The rollout of the new tools follows the platform's launch of "Reddit answers" in December last year, an AI-powered search tool for users to ask questions and receive answers. Once a question is asked, curated summaries of relevant conversations and details across Reddit will appear, including links to related communities and posts.
In a statement, the platform said, "Redditors can easily read relevant snippets and answers inline from real redditors, jump into the full conversations, and go deeper in their search with their own or suggested follow-up questions." The tool was rolled out to a limited number of users in the United States.
Prior to "Reddit answers", in August, the platform acquired ad creative optimisation platform Memorable AI to further advance its campaign performance and impact.
Through the acquisition, Reddit advertisers will have access to Memorable AI’s best-in-class tools to enhance their campaign planning and drive higher performance, it said in a statement.
"As we integrate Memorable into our ad stack, our partners will be able to see performance benefits from creative insights from previous ads, better creative effectiveness, and automation that guides their creative towards maximum performance and return on ad spend," it explained.
