Prudential taps booming functional fitness trend with REDLINE partnership

Prudential Assurance Malaysia has signed on as the official partner of REDLINE Fitness Games, deepening its push into health and wellness as the fast-growing functional fitness event continues to gain traction across Southeast Asia.

The partnership, which will see the event rebranded as REDLINE Fitness Games by Prudential, comes ahead of the competition's Kuala Lumpur edition taking place on 25 and 26 July at the MINES International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC).

Brought to life under the theme "Standing Strong with REDLINE by Prudential", the collaboration aims to celebrate resilience, determination and personal growth, both on and off the race floor.

Launched in Kuala Lumpur in 2023, REDLINE has emerged as one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing functional fitness race brands, positioning itself as an accessible alternative to established fitness race formats such as Hyrox. The event combines endurance, strength, power and movement challenges, welcoming participants ranging from first-time competitors to experienced athletes.

This year's Kuala Lumpur edition is expected to attract more than 8,000 participants and 6,000 spectators over two days of competition.

According to Melanie Tan, general manager of REDLINE Fitness Games, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to celebrating resilience and encouraging Malaysians to push beyond their perceived limits.

"REDLINE is where resilience is tested in real time. Across the arena, participants are challenged to dig deep, stay strong, and push beyond what they thought was possible," said Tan.

"Together with Prudential, we want to celebrate the strength it takes to show up, regardless of background, fitness level, or personal journey. This partnership is about inspiring Malaysians to stand strong, keep moving forward, and discover their own REDLINE," she added.

For Prudential, the sponsorship forms part of its broader efforts to champion holistic wellbeing and resilience. Chee Foong Wai, chief customer, marketing and product officer at Prudential Assurance Malaysia, said resilience extends beyond physical fitness.

"At Prudential, resilience is about more than physical strength. It's about being prepared to face life's toughest moments. REDLINE by Prudential brings this to life through physical challenge and community, but more importantly, it reflects our commitment to helping customers build resilient futures," said Chee.

"With our partnership with REDLINE, we want to encourage people not just to stay active, but to stand strong and be ready for whatever life may bring," she added.

The partnership also comes at a significant point in REDLINE's growth journey. Following its success in Malaysia, the fitness race brand is accelerating its regional expansion, with upcoming events planned in Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore.

Owned and operated by Fresh Events Asia, REDLINE has grown rapidly since its debut, reflecting the broader rise of functional fitness and community-driven sporting experiences across the region.

In the months leading up to its July event, REDLINE has also secured energy drink brand XP, Beyond Massage, JBL, Purpose Performance Wear, Rokeby protein smoothie, and 100PLUS as official partners. It also announced SAYS, OhBulan! and Viral Cham! as its official media partners for the games.

Functional fitness events have taken over the region, with HYROX at the fore. Recently, AIA Singapore was announced as the title sponsor for the HYROX Open Asian Championships and HYROX Singapore in 2025. And as the game lands in Kuala Lumpur for its first edition come December 2026, AirAsia has swooped in as the official title partner for HYROX Kuala Lumpur.
