PRISM launches CheckIn to capture surging demand for premium value stays

The premium value segment continues to accelerate Indonesia’s hospitality recovery, prompting PRISM - parent company of OYO - to launch CheckIn, a new application designed to consolidate its expanding portfolio of mid-to-premium offerings. Introduced in Jakarta, CheckIn brings together Townhouse Hotels, Clubhouse, Sunday Hotels, Belvilla, Dancenter, and Palette Hotels under one digital roof, forming what the company calls the country’s largest premium value hotel collection.
The launch comes as Indonesia experiences a pronounced shift in traveller expectations. Over the past three years, demand for premium value accommodation has surged, fuelled by the rise of the urban middle class, the persistence of domestic travel habits formed during the pandemic, and a growing emphasis on reliable, comfort-driven stays among business travellers.
Younger audiences, in particular, are increasingly seeking hotels that balance modern amenities with affordability - pushing the category to become a major driver of recovery in markets such as Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, Bali, and Yogyakarta.

Positioned as a curated alternative to inconsistent budget options, CheckIn integrates PRISM’s service standards across its brands, offering trained staff, modern rooms, expanded in-room entertainment, and varied breakfast options. Within the ecosystem, Townhouse Hotels functions as the entry-level brand, while Sunday Hotels anchors the premium end of the category.
The platform is now available via the App Store and Google Play Store, equipped with search filters, reviews, and a simplified booking flow aimed at reducing friction for guests.
“CheckIn is a direct response to the shifting preferences of Indonesian travellers. With our property network and increasingly integrated service standards, CheckIn strengthens PRISM’s presence in the modern, comfortable, and reliable segment - the fastest-growing category in Indonesia today. We believe CheckIn will become the top choice for domestic and business travelers seeking premium quality at an affordable price,” said Hendro Tan, country head of PRISM Indonesia.
Ritesh Agarwal, founder and group CEO of PRISM, added, “CheckIn is our strategic step to strengthen premium value hospitality standards in Indonesia. We see strong demand for stay experiences that are high-quality, modern, yet affordable. CheckIn allows us to provide a more consistent, comfort-oriented service, ensuring guests receive a curated, reliable experience that meets expectations.”
The company said it will continue to introduce innovations and expand its portfolio to match Indonesia’s rapidly evolving travel behaviours.
Previously, Oravel Stays rebranded its corporate identity as PRISM to reflect its broader global portfolio and long-term vision. Founded in 2012 as a budget travel-tech brand, the company has since expanded into other categories across more than 35 countries.
Today, the group’s portfolio spans hotel brands such as OYO, Motel 6, Townhouse, Sunday, and Palette; holiday home brands such as Belvilla, DanCenter, CheckMyGuest, and Studio Prestige; and extended-stay offerings including Studio 6 acquired through G6 Hospitality. It also operates workspace and event-space brands such as Innov8 and Weddingz.in, alongside hospitality tech solutions powered by AI and data science.
