Primal MY picks new general manager

Primal Malaysia has appointed Jeppe Bauer Carlsen (pictured) as its new general manager.
His appointment comes as Primal enters its sixth year in Malaysia, having seen a stable year on year growth in the last few years. Thus far, Primal has built a stable team and a portfolio of clients. The agency is now ready to start an ambitious scaleup btoh in terms of size and also in broadening the scope of services to be fully digitally integrated, explained Carlsen in conversation with A+M.
In his new role, Carlsen is tasked at hiring the best talent and growing the business of the digital marketing agency.

Prior to becoming general manager at Primal Malaysia, Carlsen was a managing director at Digital Monkey Laos where he was also founder. He also held the role of VP sales and marketing at Seven Peaks Software and managing director at Lion & Lion Malaysia and Lion & Lion Vietnam.
He started his career at BBDO, based in Copenhagen, project director at Management events and marketing consultant at Insmai Creative Communications, according to his LinkedIn.
Carlsen takes on the role from Carl Huang, who served the role of general manager for almost two years. Huang was previously head of enterprise, account management for five years in the group's sister company, First Page Digital in Singapore.
Huang was based in Kuala Lumpur but is now returning to his hometown of Singapore.
Primal Malaysia is part of a global group of digital agencies, Superist. It specialises in search engine optimisation, paid search and social media marketing. In 2022, it was named search agency of the year at Agency of the Year Malaysia.
