Pavilion Damansara Heights is bringing a touch of the wizarding world to Kuala Lumpur with a Harry Potter-themed activation celebrating 25 years of the film franchise.

Running from 20 August to 20 September, the "Harry Potter: 25 years of magic" campaign takes inspiration from memorable moments and locations from the series, including 'Platform 9¾' and the 'Hogwarts Express', with installations and experiences designed for fans, families and first-time visitors.

At the centre of the activation is an interactive three-station quest, which invites shoppers to make their way through the campaign journey before unlocking a limited-edition Harry Potter sticker pack.

The mall is also hosting complimentary Harry Potter-themed workshops, where visitors can create their own wizarding-inspired keepsakes. These include a "25th celebration hat workshop" and "Shrink the celebration keychain workshop".

The campaign also includes a series of exclusive shopper rewards, with visitors able to redeem limited-edition Harry Potter merchandise such as themed socks and pouches with qualifying purchases.

Adding a retail element to the celebration, MINISO Malaysia has also launched a Harry Potter pop-up booth at Pavilion Damansara Heights' level 2 concourse.

The pop-up features a themed setup alongside MINISO's Harry Potter collection, giving shoppers another photo opportunity and a chance to browse merchandise inspired by the franchise. MINISO has been promoting the experience on social media as a weekend destination, encouraging visitors to explore the setup, take photos and shop the collection.

The activation comes as Harry Potter marks 25 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone first arrived in cinemas in 2001, introducing audiences to Hogwarts and kicking off one of the world's most recognisable entertainment franchises.

For Pavilion Damansara Heights, the month-long celebration turns the anniversary into an experiential retail play, combining fandom, interactive activities, merchandise and spend-based rewards to give shoppers more reasons to engage with the property beyond traditional shopping.

A+M has reached out for more information.

The Pavilion activation follows other brands in the region tapping into the enduring fandom around Harry Potter through experiential marketing. Earlier this year, Starbucks partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to roll out a Harry Potter collaboration across 12 Asia Pacific markets.

The partnership sought to turn everyday coffee runs into wizarding experiences through themed beverages, merchandise and in-store touchpoints. At the heart of the campaign were three "Honeydukes bursting bonbons" beverages, alongside more than 20 lifestyle and drinkware items inspired by the franchise.

At the time, Nancy Lo, VP of product and marketing at Starbucks Asia Pacific, said the partnership was rooted in the brand's aim of turning routine visits into meaningful occasions. The collaboration also leaned on Harry Potter's cultural pull to deepen fan connection and create a more experiential Starbucks visit.
