My E.G. Services (MyEG), well-known in Malaysia for its JPJ-related (Road and transport department) digital services, and provision of other e-government solutions, has announced its official name change to Zetrix AI.
In a Bursa filing published on 30 June (yesterday) the company announced that its new name will take effect from 9AM, 3 July (Thursday). While its stock code remains unchanged, its new stock short name will be "ZETRIX".

The company had proposed the change in its company name earlier in April this year, and the new name had already been in effect since 25 June. It also renamed its corporate headquarters, the MyEG Tower, to Zetrix Tower.
In announcing the name change on MyEG's official Facebook page yesterday, the company said: "This change reflects our refreshed identity as we continue to trailblaze the deployment of blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics in positioning ourselves as a leader in these technology advancements across ASEAN."
"Our new name also signifies our evolution beyond local ventures, highlighting our vision to establish a presence on a global scale. We are excited about what the future holds and look forward to offering more digital solutions that connect people, businesses, and governments," it added.
Zetrix is also the name of the company's blockchain platform, which has been central to its recent digital transformation and international partnerships, report Lowyat.Net. The platform currently serves as the core infrastructure for the Malaysian Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), which was launched in collaboration with MIMOS Technology Solutions earlier in April this year.
Currently, the MyEG branding is still active across the company's mobile applications and website. The myeg.com.my website acts as a one-stop platform for Malaysians to renew and check their vehicle insurance, road tax, driving license, and other permits.
It remains unclear whether the company will continue to use the long-established MyEG branding across its services, or if it will conduct an overhaul and rename everything to Zetrix.
