Amazon Ads consultancy Deep Media has expanded into Victoria, appointing former MiQ group account director Luke Burr to spearhead its Melbourne launch.
Burr brings more than a decade of media and programmatic experience, having held senior roles at MiQ, Yahoo and Fairfax. He is also a Victorian board member for industry charity UnLtd. In his new role, Burr will lead Deep Media’s local growth strategy, working with brands and agencies to unlock value across Amazon’s advertising ecosystem, including Prime Video, Sponsored Ads, Twitch and IMDb, alongside select premium third-party publishers.
“Victoria’s independent agency scene is one of the most innovative and fast-moving in the country and Deep Media is built to partner with that energy,” Burr said.
“With Amazon Ads offering marketers the ability to connect with relevant audiences across Prime Video, Netflix and various third-party publishers across the open internet, there’s never been a better time to help brands tap into its full potential. I’m excited to join a Deep Media team which is already doing great things for its partners.”
Deep Media co-founder Paul Kent said the Melbourne launch reflects growing demand from advertisers for more accountable and measurable media solutions.
“We’re growing fast because the market is shifting fast,” Kent said. “Launching into New Zealand was a huge step for us and now with Luke leading the charge in Victoria, we’re even better placed to support ambitious brands and agencies across the region. He’s one of the most respected operators in the industry and brings exactly the local insight and leadership we need.”
Founded by former Amazon executives Paul Kent, Andrew Hammond and Blake Gorman, Deep Media is an Advanced Amazon Ads Partner and has delivered hundreds of campaigns across ANZ, APAC, Europe and North America.
