Chinese eCommerce giant JD.com has partnered with 12 hardware brands, including Lenovo and ASUS, to launch a virtual idol girl group called “十二姬”, releasing their first AI single, "Unlock My Love."
The collaborating hardware brands also include Red Magic (紅魔), ROG, AOC, Gigabyte (技嘉科技), Colourful (七彩虹), Galaxy Microsystems (影馳), Micro-Star International (微星), SANC, HKC and Maxsun (銘瑄).
Powered by JD.com's JoyAI model, the virtual girl group made their debut in JD.com’s live stream on Monday (2 March). The 12 members correspond to the representative virtual images of each brand, including Lenovo - 拯救姬; Red Magic - Mora 紅魔姬; ROG - ROG Princess; ASUS - 天選姬; AOC - 愛攻姬; Gigabyte - 雕妹; Colourful - 柒小希; Galaxy Microsystems - 星曜娘; Micro-Star - 魔龍姬; SANC - Koko; HKC - 極光姬; and Maxsun - 璦珈.
JD.com's self-developed JoyAI model powers the avatars, utilising DiT as the foundational pre-training base for video generation, according to Sino Finance. It supports multiple control inputs, including text, audio, reference images, and poses. The resulting digital avatars exhibit high lip-sync accuracy, strong expressiveness, and robust text control, ensuring high performance and intensity.
To enrich the “十二姬” intellectual property (IP) content ecosystem, JD.com will partner with the AIGC Game IP Short Film Competition, part of the 16th Beijing International Film Festival's games, animation, and film segment. They will launch an AI Comic Drama called 十二姬的次元宇宙 - JD Film and Television Drama Competition, inviting global fans of the two-dimensional culture, esports players, AIGC creators, and brand enthusiasts to co-create.
