Hamish & Andy top July Podcast Ranker as CRA highlights health & fitness paradox

Hamish & Andy remain Australia’s most listened to podcast, topping the Australian Podcast Ranker for July with 851,031 monthly listeners.

ABC News Top Stories followed closely with 837,869, ahead of Mamamia Out Loud, Mushroom Case Daily and Sky News Australia Update. News was again the most popular genre, reaching almost 5 million monthly listeners.

The latest Ranker also spotlighted a surprising “profitable paradox” for brands: Health & Fitness listeners are just as likely to buy fast food as fruit. CRA data shows 62% visit quick service restaurants weekly, while 81% are the main grocery shopper in their household.

“With podcasts, it’s not just about audience scale but the trusted niche communities shaping consumer decisions,” said CRA chief executive Lizzie Young. “This data gives brands clarity to invest smarter and connect deeper with the demographics that matter.”
