Orchard road shoppers over the weekend were in for a treat when Grab decided to take to the street in absurd outfits to promote GrabFood.

In a video posted by Grab to its social media channels, actors took to the streets half dressed in a singlet and shorts with slippers with some holding props such as pillows and half dressed up for a nice night out in trousers, shirts and shoes.

The group, which walked around town in a singular row, were carrying a banner that read:

GrabFood. Good for ordering in and dining out.

Some members of the group were also seen giving out flyers while people took photos and selfies with them.

Some influencers were also seen posing with the contingent such as Cayydences who posted a video saying that he was in Orchard Road and asking what was going on as he filmed the group. Other influencers who took videos of the group included Annette Lee, Zermatt Neo and Aiken Chia amongst others

"This outfit goes mad hard when you can't decide to order in or dine out," Grab wrote in the caption of the post.

"Get the best of both worlds now with GrabFood. You can get up to 50% off when you eat out with 'dine out deals," it added.

Grab added that consumers could also stand a chance to win a SG$300 gift code for GrabFood dine out deals if they spot their walkers and post an Instagram story of them within a specially created template.

The walkers will next be in the CBD area on 10 October followed by Bugis on 12 October, it said.

Grab is no stranger to unique activations. Recently, its CEO and co-founder, Anthony Tan, who is well-known for being a very hands-on leader, decided to vlog his experience as private-hire driver.

"Going onground is still the best way to test the Grab driver app in a real setting and get direct feedback from passengers. Our teams love it when I do this and pass on areas of improvement for us to act on," wrote Tan in a LinkedIn post attached to the video.

In his post, Tan also included some key takeaways from his latest shift which included the fact that GrabMaps could be enhanced in low-signal areas such as tunnels.

He also pointed out that GrabCar Premium was well recieved and that he is trying to solve the pain point of driver cancellations.
