Google Gemini Campus Tour has reached more than 47,000 students across nine universities in Indonesia, as the technology company seeks to encourage young people to explore artificial intelligence for learning, creativity and career development.

Running from August to October 2026, the initiative brought interactive Gemini experiences to campuses in multiple Indonesian cities under the theme “Lihat yang kamu bisa” (“See what you can do”).

The activation invited students to experiment with Gemini’s capabilities and explore applications spanning academic work and everyday activities.

“AI can open up more possibilities for students to learn, experiment and develop ideas. Through the Google Gemini Campus Tour, we want to give students the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how Gemini can support various activities, both inside and outside the classroom. We hope this experience will encourage students to keep trying new things, discover more ways to develop their skills and uncover potential they may never have explored or even realised they had,” said Muriel M., country marketing manager at Google Indonesia.

The campaign comes as AI adoption grows among younger Indonesians. According to a 2025 survey by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), Gen Z accounted for 43.7% of AI users, making it the largest user group. The proportion of respondents using AI for education and learning also rose from 21.84% in 2024 to 43.98% in 2025.

At the campus activations, students could explore how Gemini could support different learning styles, help them understand complex subjects, facilitate discussions and turn ideas into creative content.

The tour showcased several Gemini capabilities designed to support students' academic and personal development.

Through Study Notebooks, students can upload syllabuses, lecture notes and learning materials to generate structured notes, summaries and practice exercises. Gemini Live also allows users to interact through voice and camera, enabling more conversational exploration of topics.

Students were also introduced to generative capabilities for creating visual and other creative content, alongside applications for refining written work, developing CVs and building portfolios around their experience and projects.

Beyond the physical activations, Google is offering eligible university students in Indonesia one year of free Google AI Plus access until 31 December 2026. The offer includes access to Gemini features and 400GB of storage for academic materials, documents and other files.

Through the campus tour and student offer, Google is seeking to extend awareness and use of Gemini beyond one-off demonstrations, encouraging students to incorporate AI into their learning, creative exploration and preparation for the workplace.
