Collective Perspectives taps agency to launch platform for creatives with disabilities

Singapore-based social enterprise Collective Perspectives has appointed 8traordinary as its creative and marketing agency to develop and launch CO3, a new platform designed to expand creative gig opportunities for persons with disabilities in Singapore.

The partnership will run for two years, with 8traordinary leading the end-to-end development of the platform, including brand strategy, web development, social media and digital marketing.

The agency will work under the strategic direction of Collective Perspectives to bring CO3 to market, with the shared goal of fostering a more equitable creative economy in Singapore.

Unlike a traditional job portal, CO3 is designed to remove barriers for persons with disabilities seeking freelance creative work. The platform features accessible interfaces compatible with assistive technologies and connects users with inclusive employers that provide workplace accommodations. It also aims to promote fair wages, transparent hiring processes and stronger collaboration between creative talent and organisations.

The initiative is supported by the Enabling Lives Initiative (ELI) Grant, funded by Tote Board and managed by SG Enable. Through the grant, Collective Perspectives joins a wider national effort to create more meaningful pathways into the arts and creative industries for persons with disabilities.

"We are building real pathways for talented persons with disabilities creatives who are too often excluded," said Vincent Lim, co-founder of Collective Perspectives. "CO3 will make it easier for them to find meaningful, fairly paid creative work, and for employers to hire with accessibility and dignity in mind. This is about ensuring everyone has the chance to contribute and to thrive."

Meanwhile, Eng Soon Khai, deputy chief executive of SG Enable, said the ELI Grant aims to drive disability innovation by supporting cross-sector initiatives that empower persons with disabilities and their caregivers.

"We are pleased to support Collective Perspectives in developing the CO3 platform. By connecting creative talent with inclusive opportunities, CO3 can help create a more accessible and inclusive creative economy where persons with disabilities can contribute their skills and realise their aspirations," he said.

As part of the 24-month rollout, 8traordinary will develop and refine the platform through iterative accessibility testing, with the aim of creating a solution that delivers lasting social impact.

"I believe every individual has the unique ability to change the world. And it begins with changing the way we perceive it," said Jeffrey Lim, managing director of 8traordinary.

"We're honoured and privileged to be invited to play a pivotal role in helping to shape and open up more possibilities in the creative space for persons with disabilities."

Once launched, CO3 aims to become more than an inclusive job platform, positioning itself as an ecosystem that connects creative talent with opportunities while encouraging a more accessible and inclusive creative industry. It seeks to create an environment where persons with disabilities can contribute meaningfully, grow professionally and have their work recognised on equal footing.

The appointment also reflects a growing industry focus on creating meaningful opportunities for persons with disabilities beyond representation in advertising. While campaigns such as SG Enable's "Would you care?" have sought to shift public perceptions, initiatives such as CO3 aim to address structural barriers by connecting creative talent with accessible employment opportunities.
