CARMA Indonesia has appointed Aubrey Siahainenia (pictured) as its new business development director, reinforcing the company’s presence in one of Southeast Asia’s most competitive communications markets.

The appointment places a seasoned media and communications figure at the helm of Indonesia growth efforts. Siahainenia brings more than two decades of industry experience, most recently serving as senior growth manager at Telum Media. He will report directly to Andrew Nicholls, managing director for CARMA Asia Pacific.

Nicholls said the hire reflects both the scale of opportunity in Indonesia and the increasing sophistication of client needs across earned media, social listening and audience intelligence. “Indonesia is a priority market for CARMA and Aubrey is a respected figure in its PR and communications community. His appointment further strengthens our in-market team, and we are delighted to welcome him onboard.”

For brands operating in Indonesia’s fast-evolving media ecosystem, Siahainenia’s arrival comes at a time when scrutiny, speed and stakeholder expectations are rising. In his new role, he will focus on supporting organisations seeking clearer, data-driven guidance on issues management and audience sentiment.

“Indonesia’s media environment moves quickly, and organisations need clarity on how issues develop and how stakeholders respond,” Siahainenia said. “CARMA’s local insight allows teams to make better decisions, backed by clear analysis. I am looking forward to helping our clients understand the landscape and how Indonesian audiences and journalists shape narratives.”

CARMA continues to position itself as a specialist provider of integrated media intelligence across monitoring, social listening and audience research, anchored by AI-powered tools and consultancy. The firm’s Indonesian operation offers end-to-end support, from rapid issue tracking to competitive benchmarking and strategic planning.

As of now, CARMA’s technology monitors print, broadcast, online and social media across more than 130 content partners and over 100 languages, supported by consultancy teams worldwide. Earlier this year, the firm expanded its presence to Spain with the opening of its 24th office in Madrid, following a recent expansion into Japan with a new office in Tokyo.
