Australia Post goes beyond delivery with Big Boss Energy push

Australia Post is looking to position itself as more than a delivery network, launching a new campaign to support small businesses and side hustlers across Australia’s growing eCommerce sector.
The Big Boss Energy campaign celebrates businesses of all sizes, from side hustles to established enterprises, and the ambition driving their growth.
It comes as Australians spent a record $82.6 billion online last year, with micro and small businesses making up 88% of Australia Post’s customer base.
As part of the campaign, selected post offices will be activated as “Side Hustle Capitals of Australia”, highlighting local businesses through in-store activations, content and community engagement.
The campaign will also include visits from the Peak-Me-Up Coffee Van, creator-led content, paid and organic social, local area marketing, post office point-of-sale, EDM and website content.
Gary Starr, executive general manager, parcel, post and eCommerce services at Australia Post, said the campaign reflected a broader shift in how the business supports Australian entrepreneurs.
“Small businesses are the backbone of communities across Australia and make up the vast majority of our customer base,” Starr said.
“Every day, we help businesses of all sizes reach customers across the country, whether they’re making their first online sale or growing into an established eCommerce brand.
“As Australia’s eCommerce sector continues to grow, we're always looking at new ways to support businesses beyond delivery. Big Boss Energy is about celebrating the ambition of Australian businesses while giving them practical opportunities to build their profile, connect with customers and scale with confidence.”
Starr said Australia Post’s retail network also played a role in supporting business growth at a local level.
“We're proud to support businesses at every stage of growth, and our Post Office network plays an important role in that journey by providing trusted local connections and practical support in communities right across Australia,” he said.
The campaign will culminate in the Australia Post Making Moves Market in Melbourne on 20 September, giving side hustlers and small businesses a platform to showcase their products, grow their brand and reach new customers.
