Asia United Bank (AUB) has partnered with global issuer processor Paymentology to upgrade its digital payments infrastructure, as the Philippine bank looks to accelerate innovation across its mobile banking and eWallet services.
Announced at Paymentology’s Issuer Academy Thailand Masterclass in Bangkok, the deal will integrate Paymentology’s cloud-native card issuing and real-time processing platform into AUB’s digital ecosystem. The infrastructure will support the bank’s flagship eWallet HelloMoney, mobile banking services, QR Ph capabilities and digital transfer networks.
HelloMoney, in partnership with Alipay+, was among the first eWallets from a Philippine bank to enable cross-border mobile payments, allowing users to scan and pay via QR codes across 60 major international destinations. These include Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The partnership comes as digital financial activity grows in the Philippines. Data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas showed that 62% of households conducted financial transactions online in 2025, up from 53% in 2024.
Through the collaboration, AUB aims to establish a scalable payments foundation to support the development of new products and customer experiences, while enabling faster innovation across its digital services.
“Driving digital innovation is central to our mission of providing fast, secure and frictionless financial solutions. Our partnership with Paymentology marks an important milestone in AUB’s digital transformation,” said Wilfredo E. Rodriguez Jr., executive vice president and head of IT and operations at AUB.
“By combining Paymentology’s advanced payments technology with AUB’s strong presence and understanding of the Philippine market, we can accelerate the rollout of modern payment products and continue delivering enhanced digital experiences to our customers,” he added.
Anna Porra, chief revenue officer at Paymentology, said the Philippines was an exciting payments market, with strong momentum behind digital adoption and financial inclusion.
“We’re proud to partner with AUB as it enters the next stage of its digital journey. Together, we have an opportunity to build payment experiences that are secure, scalable, and ready to evolve alongside AUB’s ambitions.”
