Grey names new APAC CEO

Grey has promoted Sarah Trombetta (pictured) to APAC CEO, expanding her current remit to include responsibility for Grey in the region, effective immediately. 

Within her new role, Trombetta reports to Laura Maness, global CEO, Grey. Before her promotion, Trombetta served as AMEA chief client officer for P&G, representing Grey and WPP, since 2021. Prior to that, she held the position of CEO of Grey Hong Kong from 2016 to 2019.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Trombetta was CEO of Red Havas AU from 2019 to 2021 and has worked at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, KAIZO, and Brand Influence GCI Media Group. 

Maness said: “APAC is a hyper-evolving marketplace, and a priority region for our ongoing reinvention plans. Under Trombetta’s guidance, her client-focused leadership, ingenuity, and modernity, I’m confident she’ll help nurture and support our teams to deliver even further value for our clients. A vibrant and dynamic leader, I am very proud to appoint Sarah to this key role.”

As part of Grey’s leadership reshuffle, Grey has also promoted Masahiko Okazaki to chief executive officer, Grey Tokyo, effective immediately. Okazaki was previously Grey's chief operating officer, and he joined Grey in January 2022 from TBWA/Hakuhodo.  

“It is an honour to be named CEO of Grey Tokyo, I am excited and confident we will build exponentially on our success,” Masahiko said.

Back in April, Lee Kum Kee handed the creative duties of its food business to Grey Hong Kong, following a competitive pitch in January 2024.
