As the implications of the Omnicom–IPG merger begin to unfold, Melinda Po (pictured) has exited her role as CEO of IPG Mediabrands Greater China, MARKETING-INTERACTIVE understands. Her departure comes three years after the position was first established.

As CEO of Mediabrands Greater China, Po was responsible for leading the network offering across China’s mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan region, fully leveraging all the Mediabrands agencies and functions as a future facing media and communications partner to its clients’ business.

With 20 years industry experience across the Greater China region, Po is a modern thinker with a strong advertising and digital marketing background. Having successfully led Edelman’s transformation from a PR agency into an integrated business solutions partner, Po drew upon her prior experience re-designing the Ogilvy advertising and brand content business model in China, in addition to previous senior leadership roles across Arcade and AKQA.

Po also specialises in cultural and organisational transformation using her craft in the consulting space to help companies elevate their strategic relationship with clients.

Her departure comes as Omnicom Media Group APAC CEO Tony Harradine unveiled a new leadership structure for the merged entity, aimed at driving growth and innovation across the region.

In an internal note, seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Harradine said, bringing together two organisations will always involve difficult decisions, and he acknowledges that openly. “Omnicom Media is committed to supporting everyone impacted, with clear information and ongoing guidance as we navigate these early days together,” he said.

Additionally, he shared that overseeing the new vision will be the local market CEOs, a" leadership team that now includes perspectives from both Omnicom and IPG, combining these expertise and a shared vision for growth”.
